A Legacy of Acceptance

Since 2011, the Airdrie Abilities Centre has been dedicated to providing enriching activities for individuals with special needs. In 2014, we became a non-profit society, allowing us to expand our reach. By 2020, we gained federal charitable status, strengthening our impact in the community.

Our History

The Airdrie Abilities Centre has been offering activities and programs to special needs individuals since 2011.

The registered charity’s mission is to promote equal opportunities to support and demonstrate the strengths and abilities of person’s with special needs.

In 2014 AACS obtained it’s non-profit society license and has been using donations to offer life skills programs as well as arts and crafts. Then in 2020 AAC became a federally registered Canadian charity, increasing our participation through community engaging endeavors.

As well as cooking, Barb Woolsey, President Coordinator at the Airdrie Abilities Centre, said that they have drum groups, dancing and music therapy, painting, sewing and bead work, as well as many other activities.
